Protein Supplement questions…?

Okay, so I want to take some protein supplements to help speed weight loss and build muscle. I’m pretty weak and am sorty flabby, so I wanna tighten up (I’m 17 btw).
Anways, here are my questions…
1. What is the best powdered supplement to take that is somewhat inexpensive (not >25$) – ie, is whey the best?
2. How much should be mixed in with a bottle of water?
3. How often should I drink it?
4. When should I drink it? (before workout, during, after, in place of a meal)?
5. What is the best protein supplement for weight loss?
6. Should I take this, and continue to work out continuously, when should i see results?

Protein shakes are not designed for weight loss. You have to understand that losing weight and building muscle are two different things. Protein shakes are a must for anyone that strength trains. They are usually post workout, because that is when your muscles look to repair themselves. Whey protein is absorbed by your muscles within 30 minutes, making it very effective.

Protein isnt like creatine, you don’t have to cycle it on and off. You need to be taking it continuously, so don’t try to save money by getting a smaller size. Go to Sams club and get EAS 100% Whey Protein. I got 70 servings (70 workouts worth) for 30 bucks. It may be online too.

Blend your shake with lowfat milk, not water. The amount really doesnt matter it just changes the taste. Drink it after your workout, not in place of a meal. You wont immediately see results, but if you know how whey protein works, you know it helps.

It’s not a meal replacer, and it isnt designed for fat loss, but it has jsut 2g fat and 3g carbs with 23g protein. Drink a full glass before a meal and you feel less hungry because your body senses you’ve had enough protein, and you eat less. I have noticed its easier to keep a 6-pack while drinking this.
